Paprika, Sweet Hungarian

Originating in Southern Mexico, the plant used to produce paprika was brought by Spaniards to Hungary where it has become an essential ingredient in Hungarian cuisine. Paprika is also popular in Spanish, Turkish, and Moroccan dishes. Paprika gives flavor and color to dishes and is often used with egg dishes, potatoes, poultry, and shrimp. It is also used in cream based sauces and soups.
