Grilled Pound Cake and Stone Fruit with Salted Strawberry Whipped Cream

Grilled Pound Cake and Stone Fruit with Salted Strawberry Whipped Cream

Give your homemade pound cake (or store-bought - we won’t tell) a food glow-up with this grilling twist. This recipe is light and fruity, the perfect summer dessert, but still satisfying for those with a sweet tooth! Grilling your pound cake and stone fruit will caramelize the sugars and give your dessert a richer flavor. Paired with a salted strawberry whipped cream, this will become a household favorite!

Servings: 8

Prep Time: 10  mins

Cook Time: 20 min

  1. Heat the grill to 400 F.

  2. Add sugar shaker to a small plate. Dip fruit in sugar shaker, then place on the grill, cut side down until browning occurs, about 5 minutes. Take off the grill and slice the fruit. Set aside

  3. Slice the pound cake into 3/4 in slices and brush each side with olive oil. Place on the grill and cook each side for 2-3 minutes, until grill marks appear.

  4. In a large bowl, whip the cream until stiff peaks form. Add the vinegar and salt and fold in gently.

  5. Plate a slice of pound cake, top with a spoonful of grilled fruit and a dollop of whipped cream, and finish with a drizzle of more vinegar and sea salt.
